Our Environmental Commitment

Dinnet Garage Ltd, is both an independent operator in garage servicing and auto repair for all vehicles, and the Fiat service dealership for commercial vehicles for Royal Deeside and the northeast of Scotland.

At Dinnet Garage we know our work can have an impact on the environment and that we have a duty of care to manage that impact in both a responsible and ethical manner.

As such, we take full responsibility for the way we run our business, and are commitmed to reducing our environmental impact, while continually working to improve our environmental performance by identifying all significant environmental impacts and putting processes into place to help prevent, reduce, or mitigate them.

Although Dinnet Garage occupies a site of 2.16 acres, 46% of our site is maintained as both wood land consisting of silver birch and fir trees and wild meadow with beehives to help increase pollination and help sustain and increase local wildlife.

Our workshops have all been fitted with low energy, long-life LED lighting, and over the coming year we will be working on such projects as the integration of renewable energy to our business through Solar panels to help reduce our carbon footprint, and rainwater harvesting & storage, for things like the washing of vehicles, to help us reduce our piped water usage.

We employ specialist contractors to dispose of our oil and filters, where the used oil is taken away and is recycled and used to fuel industrial heaters. Our waste metals are separated and collected for scrap, where cardboard and plastic products are segregated and stored for collection every two weeks for recycling.

We have all worn tires regularly collected and recycled, while waste batteries are recycled with the local licensed Authorised Treatment Facilities

Our specialist equipment helps to optimise efficiency and engine performance and ensure the emissions from our customer’s vehicles keep pollution within legal guidelines.

Our mechanics are trained and qualified in the maintenance, service and repair of electric vehicles and we have an electric vehicle recharging station installed at the garage.

To help us meet our commitment to the environment and the local community, we shall:

  • operate our business in a way that protects the environment.
  • comply will all relevant environmental legislation.
  • minimise our waste by optimising our processes to ensure efficiency.
  • continually work to reduce our energy and water usage
  • promote environmental awareness within our staff through instruction and training.
  • actively promote recycling both internally and with our suppliers.
  • minimise the environmental impact of our logistics activities.
  • educate our customers on efficient and environmentally friendly technologies.
